Stock & delivery management platform

We migrated a business off a single fragile Excel workbook and rebuilt macro logic as structured workflows in a proper application layer—so stock and deliveries are managed in a web app anyone can use from desktop, tablet, or phone.

The problem

The business had built its entire stock management and delivery tracking operation around a Microsoft Excel workbook held together by a complex web of macros. It worked—until it didn't. Keeping the macro logic intact as the business evolved had become a role in itself.

The system was fragile, difficult to audit, and tied to a single desktop. Staff working on different devices could not reliably access or update it, and any change to the logic risked breaking something elsewhere in the workbook.

What we built

We migrated the entire system to Directus, rebuilding the macro logic as structured, maintainable workflows within a proper application layer. Every rule that had lived inside a spreadsheet formula now lives in a system that can be updated, tested, and understood by more than one person.

The result is a web-based platform accessible from any device—desktop, tablet, or phone—with a clean interface for managing stock levels and tracking deliveries. The logic is visible, auditable, and no longer dependent on anyone knowing the inside of a spreadsheet.

The outcome

The business retired the Excel workbook entirely. The time previously spent maintaining macro logic was redirected to the actual work. Staff can now update stock and log deliveries from wherever they are, and the system grows with the business rather than against it.
